At Le Metro, we take take great pride in the fact that our project allows us to share with you not only the most dynamic wines in the world, but also the work of immensely talented artists such as our current collaborator Ray Ferrer. Today, Volume XXII: Underground Australia goes to press, which is our second edition to feature Ray’s artwork.
It’s not only Ray’s vision that is entirely unique, but also his process; the “urban wall art” that he creates is made by use of spray paint on canvas and Ray’s own hand-cut stencils. In fact, it’s gained him sponsorship from both X-Acto (whose blades he uses to cut his stencils) and Plutonium Paint. We’ve never seen anything like Ray’s work.
Nor have we met anybody else like Ray, who likes to say that he “traded in his MBA for spray paint,” and happens to have relocated from New York to San Diego in 2014. It’s a pleasure and an honor to have Ray as part of the Le Metro crew, and we’re excited that there’s still one more piece on the way from him for April.
We still have a few sets of Zinfandel Rising in stock, which contains Ray’s painting, “Wine, Anybody?,” and Underground Australia is also available for pre-order. And if you like what you see here of Ray’s work, please do click on over to his website; he and his family could really use your support right about now.
