Team Rosé

Last week we revealed three of the six wines included in our upcoming release, Volume XXV: “Rosé Every Day.” Now we’re back to raise the curtain on the other half of the set!

These wines are in house and shipping next week, but there’s still time to order a collection for yourself. Whatever you do, don’t miss the chance to sample all six wines at our rooftop rosé dance party, on June 20! Tickets are available here.

Poe, and Donelan, and Bonny Doon, oh my.

And here’s a sneak peak at the incredible artwork from Sid Katragadda….

Rosé revelations

The time has come to let you behind the curtain!

This photo depicts three of the six outstanding California rosés that are included in our upcoming rosé collection,  which will also be served at our rooftop rosé dance party on June 20. We couldn’t be more eager to share these wines with you. Le Metro Volume XXV: Rosé Every Day will be available June 1!

You can pre-order your own rosé set now, and there’s still time to purchase tickets to the wine event of the summer. Just click here!

Liquid Farm, Y. Rousseau, and A Tribute to Grace are only half of it… don’t forget to check back here next week for the full reveal.

Going back to Cali

IMG_7134.JPG Last week brought me to the end of a month of intensive rosé-tasting, and I’m excited to announce that the selections have all been made for Le Metro Rosé 2.0! (Seriously though, it’s harder than you think…) Liquid Farm’s 2014 rosé, pictured above, is only one of the spectacular wines to be included.

I must confess that with this collection, however, I’ve accidentally made a liar out of myself. I stated back in February that Volume XXI: Zinfandel Rising was to be our sole all-California edition for the year… but back in February, I hadn’t yet tasted any of these wines. Let’s just say, mind=blown. I cannot get enough of the incredible rosés being produced in California these days.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be revealing the rest of the wines that will be making their way into this box – and served at our rooftop rosé dance party - so keep your eyes open! You can pre-order your rosé set now, and tickets are available here for our shindig on Saturday, June 20.

Cheers!
Aaron Epstein, Curator

And now, a word from our sponsors…

We’re always saying that Le Metro would be nowhere without the support of our community, and that’s especially true in the case of our events. Our Rooftop Rosé Dance Party at The Westgate Hotel on June 20 (purchase your tickets here!) wouldn’t be possible without the help of our friends here in San Diego. In particular, we’d like to thank Realstir – The Next Generation in National Home Search – who has generously sponsored our musical entertainment for the evening. Thanks to Realstir, we’ll have 14-piece funk & soul band Bump N Brass to keep us moving!

Our parent company, PROTOCOL wine studio, needs no introduction here, but deserves endless thanks on behalf of all who are involved with Le Metro. Our wine club wouldn’t exist were it not for PROTOCOL’s Tina Morey and GUY, and although she’ll rarely take the credit, Tina is the event-planning force behind each of our unique shindigs. We hope you can join us at one of our upcoming events to see what she has pulled together!

Rosé funk

Although our rosé shindig on June 20 won’t be the first time we feature live music at one of our events, it’s the first all-out dance party that we’ve ever hosted. So, we’re not messing around: we’ve booked San Diego’s premiere funk & brass band, Bump N Brass.. To get a taste for the evening that’s in store, hit play on the video above! If you’re not already as excited as we are about this rooftop rosé dance-off, the music is sure to move you.

Now’s your chance to purchase tickets for the event before prices go up again on May 1. Click here for yours.

Tickets are on sale for our next wine popups!

Curator Aaron kicks off the evening at Kettner Exchange

Our popup wine dinner at Kettner Exchange on 2/28 was a blast, thanks to lively company, great wine (of course!) and incredibly delicious food. The kitchen at KEX truly outdid itself – definitely check this place out next time you’re in San Diego!

Tickets are already on sale for not one but TWO upcoming Le Metro events, which will take us all the way into summer. Join us on Saturday, April 25 at The Patio on Goldfinch for an intimate, family-style meal paired to the wines from our Portuguese collection (Volume XXIV – May, 2015). Click here for details, and to purchase your seat at the table.

We’re also pumped for our first-ever rooftop rosé dance party, on June 20! Join us as we welcome summer from the stunning Riviera Patio at the Westgate Hotel, and dance the night away to live music by 14-piece funk and soul band Bump n Brass. This one is worth the trip even for out-of-towners! And prices are only going up as we get closer to the date, so make sure you snag your ticket early. This year’s rosé collection is currently in development, and you can be sure that there are surprises in store.

We hope to see you in person soon, and remember – Le Metro subscribers always get first dibs on our sell-out events! Purchase your own subscription now and start receiving our unique wine collections at home.

We invite you to spend the evening with us on Saturday, 5/31 at The Prado Restaurant at Balboa Park to enjoy the selections from Volume XII: Stop and Smell the Rosé accompanied by San Diego sunshine and a delicious rosé-inspired meal.

Dinner will run from 5:00 to 7:30 pm – tickets are $85 each (all in – tax and tip included!). They may sell out quickly, so click here to purchase your seat now. We’ll see you soon!

Aboveground (at the hottest spot in town)

Note: This event is now sold out! Make sure you’re signed up for our email bulletin (at the top of your screen) to be kept apprised of future Le Metro events.

San Diego has been buzzing since sleek and delicious Juniper & Ivy opened in February. This partnership between Top Chef Richard Blais and financier Mike Rosen (with whom Aaron shares the pages of this month’s Riviera Magazine Men of Style spread!) is further endowed with a beverage program helmed by illustrious sommelier Tami Wong, who also provided the food pairing suggestions for our current release. It’s no wonder that it’s so tough to get a reservation.

We invite you to join us on April 24 for an intimate dining experience at the hottest restaurant in town, featuring the wines from Volume XI: The Lure of the Loire alongside Chef Richard’s culinary delights.

Seats at our communal table are $79 (all inclusive) and may sell out quickly. Click here to purchase yours now.

We’ve also partnered up with Uber to get you home safely from Le Metro events. If you’ve never ridden with Uber, use promo code LEMETRO to save $20 on your first trip. (Or signup here.)

We’ll see you soon at Juniper & Ivy!

Aboveground (and in the kitchen!)

Join us for dinner on March 27 at La Villa’s intimate chef’s table.

After filling up the table for last month’s Aboveground event before tickets even went on sale, we’re incredibly excited to announce our March dinner. We invite you to sit down with us at the awesome chef’s table in the kitchen at La Villa Restaurant in San Diego’s Little Italy.

This delicious, family style meal will feature Aaron’s selections from Volume X: California Soil, Italian Soul accompanied by La Villa’s rustic Italian flavors. This edition shipped on Monday and has already sold out, so this may be your only chance to try these wines!

Seating is limited as usual, and tickets are $75 (all-inclusive). Tickets are available for purchase here via PROTOCOL wine studio.

La Villa is located at 646 India Street in San Diego, and dinner will run from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

Introducing Le Metro “Aboveground!”

We’re pleased to announce our event series for 2014: Le Metro “Aboveground.”

Our first function of the year celebrates the last days of San Diego’s acclaimed Farm House Cafe. Farm House Wine Director Deirdre O’Dwyer will join the Le Metro team and members of our community for dinner as we sip the selections from Volume IX: Seduced by Syrah while enjoying Farm House delicacies. For $75 (all-inclusive), the meal will feature six wines, family-style appetizers, individual entrees, and desserts to share.

This dinner sold out before we were even able to announce it, as Farm House is closing at the end of the month to seek new digs and the hard-to-find wines in Volume IX will soon be gone. But we’ll be hosting intimate events like this every month now, so keep your eyes open and make sure you’ve signed up for our email bulletin (at the top of this page)! You never know where we’ll pop up next.

Ready your palate, open your mind.

Check out our friends at Farm House!

Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles.

As Christmas gives way to New Years, even those who are not as bubbles obsessed as we are begin thinking “Champagne.”

To build your excitement even further, here are some photos from our First Annual Holiday Bubbles Bash, which we held on December 14th at the Chuck Jones Gallery in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.

Many bubbles were consumed and good times were had by all. Thank you so much to all who attended!

To those who missed it, we’ll see you next year. Our events schedule for 2014 will be online soon.
